Colin Ramage

colin ramaageScottish folk musician Colin Ramage will be playing in The Taynuilt Hotel on the evening of Saturday 22nd March from 9pm till late. Come and join us for an evening of fine entertainment.

Colin Ramage – Professional folk singer, songwriter and all-round entertainer for over twenty years, Colin Ramage has captivated audiences all over the world from Aukland to Zurich and many towns and cities in between. His road to success has been steeped in Scottish tradition, spending many years with the Edinburgh-based band, ‘North Sea Gas’, before progressing on to a richly rewarding solo career. Although Colin is a talented multi-instrumentalist in his own right it is his voice which leaves the biggest impression – be it a strong sea shanty, a fierce batttle song, a soft ballad or lullabye, all are given a unique touch. In 2006 Colin joined forces with fiddler Iain Anderson and piper Neil Paterson for a tour of Switzerland under the name of ‘Càirdeas’ (meaning ‘friendship’ in Scottish Gaelic). Now, six years on, they are one of the hottest tickets on the European festival scene appearing on the bill alongside the likes of The Chieftans, The Dubliners, The Black Family, Procol Harum, Tom Paxton, Arlo Guthrie and Ralph McTell.
